- Employees as individu in an organization have to show their performance. Employee performance is a key variable in work and organizational psychology. Employee performance is mainly treated as a dependent variable. This study aims to provide empirical evidence about the influence of organizational culture on the employee performance by considering organizational commitment as an intervening variable. Data collection was done through questionnaires distribution. Respondents in this study are full time or home base lecturer of private universities that are located in West Jakarta. Path analysis was used in this study. This study revealed that organizational culture has positive influence on organizational commitment, organizational commitment has positive influence on employee performance, and organizational culture has positive influence on employee performance. This study cannot provide evidence to prove the mediation effect of organizational commitment.The result of this research is useful for private universities in order to manage the workforce effectively and efficiently.
