- Chinese Ethnic in Indonesia is often treated differently from the majority community. The treatment causes problems that are continuing until today. Not only the Chinese people who are grateful of the rise of Reformation era, but also the media, especially television began to raise the Chinese Ethnic to the public more openly. Ernest Prakasa is a comic who use the Chinese characteristic in his performance. Early in 2014, Ernest Prakasa Illucinati Tour 2014 was held in Jakarta, which was rebroadcasted by Kompas TV. This research use a qualitative research method of content analysis. Primary data in this study is 21 bits of Chinese Ethnic in the show and secondary data was the interview. The discussion in this study based on the review of the literature regarding the function of language in television, stand-up comedy, racism, and representation. From the research, it was found that the usage of Chinese Ethnic materials and describing it through language and words in Ernest Prakasa performance are only for expressional tools based on his own life experience.
