- Because of relatively simple, the most used structural analysis for structural steel design is an elastic-linear method. The method does not consider P-Delta effect, which is actually quite important and must be included. On the other hand, there are currently many commercial structural analysis program with second-order analysis capability (e.g. SAP2000) therefore the P-Delta effect can be can be calculated directly.
