- The government’s effort which is oriented to produce a high quality and competent human resources is not far from the work of professional teachers. In this study, the researcher is interested to know the differences of professional competence between sertified and non-sertified teacher, which then formulated as follow: (1) w h e t h e r there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in subject mastery to the professional competence.(2) whether there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in teaching to the professional competence (3) whether there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in interpersonal relationship to the professional competence (4) whether there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in classical based assessment to the professional competence. This research is conducted in Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren KaliwatesJember. Data analysis shows that : 1) there is significant difference between sertified and nonsertified teacher in in subject mastery, 2) there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in teaching process, 3) there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in interpersonal relationship, 4) there is any significant difference between sertified and non-sertified teacher in classical based assessment.
