METADISCOURSE AND GENERIC STRUCTURE IN STUDENT’S DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

- The research aims at describing what metadiscourse types interactive and interactional used and explaning the function of metadiscourse in descriptive text student’s in ILLC (UNIM) Mojokerto. Moreover this research also explains how the generic structure pettern. The method of this study’s is qualitative research is a content analysis, analysis research since the data are in the from of written taken from ten industrial engineering student’s descriptive texts. The result reveal that there are two types frame markers in interactive and attitude markers in interctional metadiscourse, this reflects the student attempt to persuade the readers by presenting the goals and emphazing the importance of something in the product and interst of the product describe. Then from three student tend use generic structure I, D,C ( identification, description, conclusion).Several other student’s tend use generic structure pettern I, D (identification, description). The data analysis recommends that metadiscourse could be used as a material in theaching writing to level student university.
