THE USE OF STORY PYRAMID TOWARD STUDENTS’ WRITING RECOUNT TEXT AT THE SECOND GRADE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BASED ON CURRICULUM 2013

- In this final project, the objective of the study is to find out the use of story pyramid strategy toward students’ writing recount text at the second grade of junior high school based on curriculum 2013. To achieve the objective of the research , the researcher conducted an experimental quantitative research method. The research method used pre-experimental research method with one group pretest-posttest as a design. The population of this research was the second grade students of MTSN 4 Mojokerto. The researcher chose the sample by used convenience sampling, the total number of sample in this research as 29 students. The data got from both pretest and posttest score were analyzed used T-test formula. The result show a that degree of freedom 28 and α = 0,05. The ttable was (1.701) , based on the result above t value (-19.741) > the ttable (1.701). According to the criteria of the test, the result shows that there is an effect between students’ achievement in writing ability of recount text by used story pyramid strategy before and after pretest and posttest are conducted. It means that using story pyramid strategy is effective and applicable at the second grade of MTSN 4 Mojokerto to teach students’ writing ability of recount text.
