Implementation of Bayesian Multinomial Logistic Regression to Determine Characteristic of Student who select Electric Engineering Program in Higher Education at Batam

  • Batam is known as industrial city, more than 60% of the companies or industries operating in Batam are electronics company, from assembly until the companies producing components such as IS, therefore the need for expert / engineer in the field of electronics is enormous.The other reasons is the difference of income between enginees with a very large technician encourage workers to continue their education to achieve higher levels. In fact in Universitas Internasional Batam the percentage of student who select electrical engineering program is less than 3% of total student enrollment. For the reasons above, we do research the characteristics of students who select Electric engineering programs in higher education at Batam. In this research we involved three universities, 1 polytechnic and 1 college with total respondents 357 person. The instrument is questionnaires which explained 8 factors that influence to the customer are motivations, group, family, perception, promotion, price, product and place. Bayesian multinomial logistic regression is statistical tehnique which used for modelling which data inferences are used combination between recent data and prior data. The result of Data analyze by using Multinomial Logistic Regression can be done suceessfully and only 4 factors cn influence dominantly.
