- This study exposed belakingi because there is still some ceper umbrella trader who uses that are in the Lapau Length Cimpago (LPC) Beach Purus Padang city. Based on the background then this research aims at describing about factors cause traders went back to using "the umbrella ceper" on the coast of Padang city Purus. Research conducted using qualitative research that aims to provide space and opportunities for researchers to be able to dig up information in more depth, because the case is sensitive. This type of research is a case study. Data collection is done by way of observation, interview, and study the documents. The informant is composed of 6 traders have umbrella ceper and local communities (Purus) also there is one Long Lapau visitors Cimpago (LPC). The technique of taking informants do with purposivesampling technique with establish certain criteria which must be met by the person who made the source of information. Research findings show that traders who use umbrella ceper never deterrent with what has been done by the security officer. Merchants who use this ceper umbrella have various reasons to keep established umbrella ceper. Merchant factors using umbrella ceper because low income trader, to attract the attention of visitors, visitors to arrive was the young boy on the boat going out, weather/climate factors are uncertain and social control are not optimal.
