- This research aims to obtain data about the condition of the people living in areas vulnarable to coastal erosion at Pasie Nan Tigo Kecamatan Koto Tangah Kota Padang. Discusses 1) The ownership of the land 2) Livelihod 3) Educational level. This research is classified into descriptive research. Research subjects where heads of families in Pasie Nan Tigo Consisting of 437 headcount. The techniques of data collection used were interviews and observation, data collections tools by using a questionnaire study. Data analysis technique is descriptive in the form of a percentage formula. The result of study are : 1) The ownership status of land (48,48%) its own, and (12,12%) ride. Sources for the get land to live (42,42%) purchased, and (13,64%) grants. Sources for get the house (53,03%) built itself and (6,06%) grants. Surface area (59,09%) > 100 – 200 m2, and (4,55%) > 300 m2. The factors driving people living on the coast (45,45%) the elderly, and (3,03%) others. People choose to stay in the beach (51,51%) close to the liverlihood, (7,57%) close to family. Communities remain (4,55%) no place to stay that would be occupied, (54,54%) where survival in coastal areas as fishing. 2) The Former job as fisherman (36,36%) enterpreneurs, and (12,12%) farmers. Part time jobs (1,51%) said civil servants, 40 respondents (60,61%) trade. 3) level of education (42,42%) elementary school and (1,51%) bachelor degree.
