- Research was carried out from September to December 2008 at Basic Science Laboratory of Science Faculty, Bengkulu University, aimed to investigate the effect of latex of unripe papaya fruit on the fertility of mice. It was started from making stock solution of unripe papaya latex, rearing and breeding mice, grouping samples, giving treatments and analyzing data. The research was designed by Completely Random Sampling with four treatments and six replications. The dosage used were 0 mg/kg bw (T0), 600 mg/kgbw (T1), 800 mg/kgbw (T2), 1000 mg/kgbw (T3). The data were analyzed by analysis of varian (ANOVA). As the result, the effect of unripe papaya’s latex tend to decrease male mice fertility, eventhough statistically non significant between control and treated mice. It is should be concluded that latex of Carica papaya Linn. effective in decreasing fertility of male mices.
