- The research has been conducted from April to June 2011. It was aimed to find out the effective concentration of root and leaf extract of Stachytarpetha jamaicensis (L) Vahl for inhibiting growth the Candida albicans. Stachytarpetha jamaicensis (L) Vahl root and leaf was extracted by maceration method with five treatments/concentration root and leaf extract (2.5%, 3.75%, 5%, 6.25%, 7.5%). The antifungal test was using paper disc diffusion method by six replications. The result showed that the most effective concentration was a of root extract 5% and leaf extract 2.5%, it was able to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans with inhibitory zone diameter 5.08 mm. It was more effective as antifungal for Candida albicans better than Ketoconazol.
