  • ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine: (1). Abnormal return difference before and after the company do a reverse split, (2). Differences Trading Volume Activity of shares before and after reverse split. Data collection methods used in this study is the documentation. This study population is all issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Study sample was taken by purposive sampling method that is the issuer to do a reverse split in the period 20012011. Hypothesis testing is done by testing the difference Average Abnormal Return (AAR) and the Average Trading Volume Activity before and after reverse split view events using the ttest (paired samples ttest) with a significance level of 5%. The results showed: (1). Based on the paired samples ttest results shown that the probability value in significance 2tailed is 0,107. So the value of probability > 0,05, then the null hypothesis (Ho) accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. This means that statistically there was no difference in abnormal returns before and after the company did a reverse split, in other words, events do not have a reverse split that affects the information content of abnormal return, (2). Based on the paired sample ttest results, it is known that the probability value in significance 2tailed is 0,002. So the value of probability < 0,05, then the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. This means that, statistically there are the difference trading volume activity before and after the date of the reverse split events
