- This study aims to evaluate the performance of the signalized intersection of Danau street Bengkulu City. The Evaluation method is using Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. The results show the approach of Danau 01 street has a degree of saturation (DS) of 0.96 with the level of service (LOS) D; the approach of Zainul Arifin street has a DS of 1.42 with the LOS F; the approach of Danau 02 street has a DS of 0.90 with the LOS C and the approach of Jaya Wijaya street has a DS 0.72 with the LOS B. This condition needs the optimization of traffic signal by adding the width of the intersection of the approach so that the DS ≤ 0.75. The optimization results consl ude that the approach of Danau 01 street has a DS of 0.75 with the LOS D; the approach of Zainul Arifin street has a DS of 0.75 with the LOS C; the approach of Danau 02 street has a DS of 0.75 with the LOS B and the approach of Jaya Wijaya street has a DS 0.75 with the LOS B.
