- The aim of this study is to provide empirical evidence about the effect of the influence of economic factors and corporate governance to board of directors' compensation. The sample of this study are 37 manufacturing companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia with the observation period from the year 2008-2011. In this research, the test of hypothesis using multiple regression method. In this study, the independent variable is firm performance, firm size, firm risk, investment opportunity set, the number of board of directors, and the board of directors shareholdings. The results showed that the performance of the firm, firm size, firm risk, a significant number of board of directors compensation board of directors, while invesment opportunity set and shareholding structure of the board of directors does not affect the compensation of the board of directors.
