  • Pine leaf ash is ash obtained from the burning of pine leaves that have been washed and leaned for 24 hours with a lime mixture of 5% from soaking water. pine ashes contain lime (Cao), alumina and silica compounds. Red brick has silica (SiO2) content of 56.26%. The chemical content found in the ashes of pine leaves and red brick ash is one of the chemical compounds present in cement. This research was aimed to know compressive strength of the mortar which use 2,5% pine leaf ash with variation of red brick ash 0%, 2,5%, 5,0%, 7,5% and 10% as addition of cement. The mortar compressive strength affected by factors such as density, age of mortartype of cement and properties of the aggregate (SNI 03-6825-2002). Mortar cubespecimen with dimension of 50 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm. The total of mortar is 5 variations with 40 pieces. Each variations has 8 mortar cubes for compressive strength. The range of initial flow values used are 105%-115%. Mortar cubes soaked for 26 days and test of mortar conducted at was 28 days. Test results showed the higgest value of mortar compressive strength occurred in addition 2,5% pine leaf ash with variation 7,5% red brick ash of 12,65 MPa with increased percentage 28,00%.
