- This study was designed as a developmental research which was aimed at Developing A Communicative English Syllabus for Journalistics Students in Universitas Bengkulu. The instrument used was a set questionnaire items adapted from Mutiara Wikjayanti (2011) and a set of interview adapted from Rabiatul Adhabiyyah (2014) to collect the data. The researcher used needs analysis to find out the students’ needs of English. The population of this study was journalistics students, journalistics alumnies, journalistics lecturers, and stakeholders as well. The samples of this study were selected with random techniques sampling. The result of the study showed that listening skill gained 97%, speaking skill gained 100%, reading skill gained 97%, and writing skill gained 94%. From the result of data analysis, a syllabus was designed based on communicative approach for Journalistics study program in Universitas Bengkulu.
