- This research is a correlation study which aims at finding out the correlation between students’ habit in li stening to Engli sh song and their vocabular y siz e. The subjects of this research are the second semester students of English Education Study Program. The instruments of this research are questionnaire and test. The questionnaire is to find out the data of students’ habit in li stening to English song, while the test is to find out the data of students’ vo cab ula ry size. The questionnaires are 12 items with 4 possible answers. The test are 140 items with 4 possible answers. The correlation between students’ habit in li stening to En gli sh song an d vocabular y siz e was high with the coefficient correlation (r) was 0.750. The coefficient correlation shows that the correlation was positive, with the correlation strength was high. This indicated that li stening to Engli sh song is quit e effecti ve to increas e students’ vocab ular y siz e. It caused by the entertaining aspects of the song which make the vocabularies are easy to be caught and remembered.
