The population of the research was 338 Second Grade Students of SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu in the 2018/2019 academic year. The samples were 68 students, taken from 20% of the total population. The data were collected by using a set of questionnaire and interview. There were 30 statements of language learning strategies which consisted of three categories of learning strategies proposed by O’Malley and C hamot (1990). They were metacognitive strategy, cognitive strategy, and social affective strategy. The questionnaire of this research was adapted from Liao and Chiang (2004). The interview for this research are based on peterson (1997). The result of this study showed students use Social Affective learning strategies dominantly. Social Affective strategy made them easier to understanding the materials, motivating them to be a better learner, and making them feel freely to asking.
