  • The purpose of this study was to reveal guidance and counseling management at SMAN 2 Kepahiang. This study uses a qualitative approach. This type of research is a case study. Data collection uses observation, interview and document study techniques. The research instrument is the researcher himself. The analysis used in this study is an interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman through data collection activities, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show the following: guidance and counseling management at SMAN 2 Kpahiang consists of planning, implementation, evaluation, follow-up, not all of which are optimal. (1) Planning guidance and counseling programs are based on analysis of student needs, are flexible, but not based on environmental analysis (2) Implementation of guidance and counseling, division of tasks in accordance with the mechanism but constrained by time, and the counselors and counselees are not balanced. (3) evaluation of guidance and counseling activities, not yet using a comprehensive model of guidance and counseling, some services have not been carried out optimally due to limited hours in class and lack of facilities. (4) Follow up on guidance and counseling in collaboration with related parties including, police, psychiatrists, psychologists, and parents of students. Keywords: management of guidance and counseling
