- The research objectives are to describe the implementation of teacher professional competency development by the principal through personal meeting techniques; describe the effectiveness of personal coaching in improving teacher professional competence in Seluma State Senior High School 8. This research method uses a method of school action research that is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study at Seluma State High School showed that the implementation of teacher professional competency development by the principal in the first cycle was quite good, the second cycle was a good category, and the third cycle was very good category. The technique of personal meetings conducted by the headmaster of the teacher was carried out by meeting technical guidance directly to the subject teachers. In each semester, the principal always fosters and observes the teacher's teaching activities in the classroom. The teachers are motivated to improve the professional competence of teachers in teaching starting from the planning, implementation and evaluation as well as the administrative completeness of the teaching and learning process.
