- This study aimed at finding out the effect of Collaborative Writing Technique a ssiste d b y Go o gle Docs to wa rd S tu d en ts’ Descript ive P a ragrap h W ritin g qu a lity . This quasi experimental research was conducted on 48 students enrolled in writing II course at the third semester of 2015 academic year in IAIN Bengkulu. Both groups were assigned to complete writing assignments using different working methods: one group worked together outside class with Google Docs, while the other worked together in class. The data was taken by using pre- and post- te st to f in d ou t the writin g qu a lit y a n d a qu e stio n na ire to f in d ou t the stud e nts’ attitude in using Collaborative Writing Technique assisted by Google Docs . The data was analyzed by using mean score and independent sample t-tests. The finding indicates that there is a significant difference between the two grou p s’ writing mean score after the experiment with sig. (2 tailed)= 0.001<0.05, which means that the use of Collaborative Writing Technique assisted by Google Docs is eff e ctive in im p roving th e stu de n ts’ d e scrip tive p a ragrap h writin g qu a lity. In addition, the students also have positive attitudes toward the collaborative writing activity assisted by Google Docs.
