- This research aimed to investigate the quality of English for the First Year of Senior High School Implementing the 2013 Curriculum the academic years 2016/2017. The method applied in this research was the descriptive method. In data collection techniques, observation check list was used. There were three textbooks observed. The aspects that were observed consisted of content, presentation, language, and graphic. The result indicated as follows. For the appropriateness the content of view; there were only two textbooks that belonged to „go o d ‟ ca te go ry, n a me ly , Pathway to English for Senior High School Grade X, published by Erlangga, and Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X, published by Kemdikbud. An o th e r te xtb o o k h ad „f a ir‟ ca tego r y n a m e ly , Bahasa Inggris untuk SMA-MA/SMK kelas X, published by Yrama Widya. There was one te xtb o o k wh ich wa s ca te go rize d int o „ve ry go o d ‟ p rese n ta tion , n a me ly Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X. While two other textbooks, namely Pathway to English for Senior High School Grade X and Bahasa inggris untuk SMA-MA/SMK kelas X h a d „go o d ‟ ca te go ry. Con ce rning th e language aspect, there was one textbook, namely Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X, which had „ve ry go o d ‟ ca te go ry. T wo o th er textbooks, namely Pathway to English for Senior High School Grade X and Bahasa inggris untuk SMA-MA/SMK kelas X ha d „go o d ‟ ca te go ry. Concerning the graphic aspect, there were two textbooks which belonged to „ve ry go o d ‟ ca t egory, namely, Pathway for Senior High School Grade X and Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA/SMK/MAK Kelas X. Another textbook namely, Bahasa Inggris SMA- MA/ SMK kelas X h a d „go o d ‟ ca te go ry. The three textbooks indicated „good‟ category and be worthy to use because they fulfilled the quality of good textbook.
