  • The purpose of this classroom action research is to find out whether through the activities of drying up the body can improve the reading ability of the beginning of the child. The research method used is classroom action research with six cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 meetings with the following stages: a) planning, b) action, c) observation, d) reflection. The subject of this study amounted to 12 children grade B2 TK Aisyiyah Curup. The instrument of data collection used is activity observation sheet of child and observation sheet of teacher activity. Technique of collecting data is done by observation. The results of the research through spelling method with the media to dry the word can improve the reading ability of the child's beginning is proven in cycle I - cycle VI. This result can be proven by 75% yield. By seeing from result of cycle I that is 48,4%, cycle II 53,2%, cycle III 64,2%, cycle IV 73,8%, cycle 78,2% and cycle VI 88,6%. From these results it is suggested to the teachers that through the method of spelling with the media drying the word is the right way used to improve the ability to read the beginning of the child.
