- Social work practice has seven principles the are include individualization, expression of feeling, emotional involvement controlled, acceptance, nonjudgemental attitude, client's right to self-determination, confidentiality, must be applied. One of the special concerns of social workers in practice is ODHA. One of the institutions that apply the principles of social work is the National Social Care Institution (PESONA) of Bengkulu City. With this researcher see the application of the principles of social work in counseling group ODHA in Peer Group Support (KDS) RAPORT PESONA of Bengkulu City. This study aims to describe the implementation of the principles of social work in group counseling activities in Peer Group Support (KDS) RAPORT PESONA of Bengkulu City. Researchers use descriptive research with qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The informant consists of 8 people representing social workers, counselors and clients who are still actively participating in counseling and clients who have quit. The results of research, there are three principles that have not been optimally applied to build emotional involment controlled, the right of the client in determining his own fate (self determination), confidentiality. the result are not optimal coused by internal and exsternal obstructions of social workers. To respon this situation instutions should facilitate their social workers. To increase their capacity, for example activity meetings with other social workers. Gradually the institutions should complement the supporting facilities and infrastructure group counseling activities. In a personality social workers can develops capacity buiding by attending the relevant training for self-development carried out by the relevant agencies. The social worker also important to strengers the team work as a media of communication and discussion to share knowledge and experience later as capacity builder.
