Daftar Isi:
- Study on mice (M. musculus Linnaeus, 1758) which was exposed with paraquat and treated with leaves extract tulip ginger (Etlingera hemispaerica (Blume) R. M. Sm) was conducted to determine the effect of paraquat and leaves extract E. hemispaerica on kidney morphology, kidney anatomy and kidney proteome profiles. This research was conducted from November 2015-January 2016 at Animal Physiology Laboratory, Basic Science Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science, University of Bengkulu, Microbiology Laboratory Faculty of Health and Medicine University of Bengkulu, and Laboratory of Sumber Belajar Ilmu Hayati (SBIH) Ruyani Bengkulu. In this research, mice was clustered into three groups, each group of ten mice: P0 (control), P1 (exposed with paraquat 1%) and P2 (exposed with paraquat 1% and treated with extraxt E. hemisphaerica leaves 0.39 mg/kg weight of body). Kidney of mice was being observed macroscopically to color, weight, length, and diameter kidney, microscopically and kidney proteome profiles. The data was analyzed with quantitative and qualitative description. Macroscopic observation showed that paraquat caused kidney color dusky red-very dusky red, smaller diameter, axis shortening. Microscopic observation showed that paraquat caused kidney anatomy hollow. Treatment of leaves extract E. hemispaerica recovered color, weight, length and anatomy was poisoned by paraquat. The kidney proteome profiling protein results two proteins with molecular weight of 16.6 kDa and 138 kDa respectively in P0 and P1 treatment.
