- The objective of research was to find out the density and distribution pattern of brown Hermit crab (Coenobita cavipes) on the edge estuari river bahari island baai city bengkulu. The research was conducted from April to Juni using methods purposive sampling and the sample line transek with the two made along the banks of the mouth of the 100 meters ith a plot and its size of 1m x 1m to the distance 5 meters between a plot. The data collected in analysis quantitatively. The density coenobita cavipes on first site 8.65 ind / m 2 2 , second site 9.75 ind / m . Analysis of the distribution pattern (id) Coenobita cavipes after tested further with Chi-Square the first site 1.062 (random) and second site 1.082 (cluster). The ratio sex male and female coenobita cavipes is 1 : 0.97. Chi-square test against the sexes shows no different real.
