- This research is intended to find out the correlation between age and employment status with exclusive breastfeeding in Pagar Jati Subdistrict, Bengkulu Tengah, by using quantitative approach. The Data were collected by using questionnaire from 27 respondents taken with judgment sampling techniques. The analysis technique used is the product moment correlation test. The results of this research shows that value of r for variable maternal age (X1) is 0,174 with 0,192 significance, while for employement status’s variable (X2) value of r is 0,229 with 0,125 significance. Therefore, there was correlation between mother’s age with exclusive breastfeeding, and there was correlation between employment status of mother with exclusive breastfeeding. Advice can be given is preferably working mothers take the time to giving exclusively breastfeed to their babies until the baby was at least 6 months because breastfeeding is very important for infant health, it will be better if workplace give special time and special facilities for breastfeeding mother, and should be part of health more give counseling the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants.
