- The aim of this research is to describe the process of Begare tradition that is done by theBesemah Community in their wedding party. The research of Begare tradition that is conducted by the researcher is using Phenomenological Theory. The technique of collecting data that is used in this research is interview, observation, and documentation. After that, the data are analyzed by using descriptive of qualitative technique. The way to choose the right informant for this research is using Snowball Sampling technique. The process of data analyzing in this research is including data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. Wedding party is used by the teenager as the place to hold the Begare Tradition which is used as the media to get their soul mate. That is why Begare Tradition is held in wedding ceremony. The result that is found by the researcher in this research is : 1) Begare tradition has been hold since 1950 by Kuripan Babas Community, 2) Begare Traditon is done in the night, the participants of that tradition are teenagers from 16 – 28 years old. That tradition is controlling by the party celebrator, 3) The way of introduction between the participants has progress in each time. In the first time the participants were using poetry (Rimbai) to introduce themselves. After that they were using a letter (Merekis). In this time they are using electronic communication media to introduce themselves. 4) The processes of Begare traditions are calling the teenagers (Mantau), picking up the female teenagers, doing an introduction between the teenagers, giving their phone number to the others, and making an appointment to meet up in the other times.
