- In the general elections of regional heads in the province of Bengkulu 2015 the number of citizens who did not vote or abstention of 50 percent.The tendency of increasing abstention figures show the political participation of the people continues to decline.This study aimed to describe the political participation of the public in general election 2015 governor of Bengkulu. This research is a qualitative descriptive study.The results showed that the lack of awareness of society to participate actively in the elections of governors Bengkulu 2015. forms of political participation that most people do is to vote for one candidate for governor and vice governor while there are some other forms of political participation such as lobbying, find connections and activities of the organization (became a successful team or organizers) could be done by the community. Suggestions to the Government, political parties and other civil society organizations must descend to provide illumination in the form of information to the public to further raise awareness and knowledge of the political participation of the people so that led to the participation of the political activities in the general election.The people should participate more actively in politics, especially in local elections because of the participation of society also determines the policy applied to the head region.
