- Soybean production on Ultisol faces two contrasting situations. Ultisol is commonly considered as a sub-optimal soil, as characterized by high soil acidity, high Al concentration, high P fixation, low organic content, and low cation exchange capacity. On the other hand, soybean is highly sensitive to Al toxicity. Amendment of organic compound offers as amelioration measure for rising soil pH and reducing Al toxicity as to providing better soil condition for the crop growth. The objective of this research was to get the best rates of cow dung manure and P fertilizer applications for the growth and yield of soybean grown on Ultisol. The experiment was conducted during June 2016 to January 2017 using a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications was used to allocate the two factors arrangement of treatments on the experimental plots. The first factor was rate of cow dung manure application, consisted of 0, 10, 20, and 30 ton ha -1 and the second factor was rate of TSP application, consisted of 50, 100, and 150 kg ha -1. No interaction effect between cow dung manure and TSP application was found the all observed variabels. The application of cow dung manure up to 30 ton ha -1 increas the number of productive branches. Cow dung application were observed on number of main root at 0 – 10 cm depth, number of filled pod, weight of dried filled pod, and number of seed per plant with optimum rate at 28,5 ton ha -1 ; 23,07 ton ha -1 ; 26,34 ton ha -1 ; and 27,76 ton ha -1 , respectively. TSP application from 50 kg ha -1 to 150 kg ha -1 could not result in growth yield improvement in soybean grown on Ultisol
