  • The aim of this study was to investigate the using and the meaning of figurative language in the Khalil Gibran’s poems collection prophet. The samples of this study were ten poems. This study was designed to follow the principles of qualitative method and the objective approach was used to analyze the data. The researcher takes all the sources of data from the poem as primary source and other literary work as guidance as the second sources. The data collecting techniques that are used by the researcher is by reading the poems, selecting the data, dealing with the problems, and deciding the data related to the objectives of the study. The result of this study could be showed in the Khalil Gibran’s poems collection prophet, are: symbolism, hyperbole, simile, repetition, personification, and paradox. In general, the implied meaning Prophet’s poems collection are saying spiritual wisdom,a mystical philosophy of simple life, human’s condition, and corresponding to each chapter are evocative drawing by Gibran himself.
