  • This research aims to explain the Ulu manuscripts of the State Museum of Bengkulu which content related to traditional medicine. This research-based philology, which is methodologically utilize the principlesof codicology and paleography for the sake of analysis. The results of the study as follows. First, there are at least 13 manuscripts collections of the State Museum of Bengkulu which was written on Ulu script, which content related to traditional medicine. Second, the texts in question can be classified based on the codex characteristics come from ethnic groups and Pasemah Serawai. Third, the texts referred to generally present the following information: (a) the various types of diseases, such as bengkak, benaluwa, beghasi, ntaluy, perabula (b) the characteristics or symptoms of a disease, (c) the ingredients for an illness in the form of leaves, roots, bark, fruit, seeds, flowers, (d) how to draw on, such as diasa, diabuarangka, boiled, and (e) ways of treat, such as diminum, uras, tapal, tangas, in addition to (f) activity post-treatment is usually in the form of sedekah bubugh.
