  • Introduction: Patients with mental disorders in rehabilitation who are cared for by their own families at home or outpatient need support to comply with the treatment program. One of the inhibiting factors in the success of improving the health status of patients with mental disorders, such as non-compliance in taking medication. Objectives: to identify family support, identify medication adherence in people with mental disorders (ODGJ), identify the relationship of family support with medication adherence in people with mental disorders (ODGJ). Design: Literature review. Data sources: The search for articles was carried out on the database, google scholer (2015-2020), Scopus (2015-2020), Science Direct (2015-2020), and to retrieve articles that are appropriate and relevant to writing topics published in Indonesian and other languages. UK between 2015 and 2020. Review Methods: Article search strategy using the PICOS framework with keywords tailored to topics related to mental disorders, family support, medication adherence. Articles were selected based on the title, review of the abstract or the full text of the study according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria before being included in the review and doing a review. Results: A total of 10 selected articles were used in this paper. Five articles that discuss family support stated that trust has a major effect on medication adherence to mental disorders patients. Five other articles discuss mental disorders, stating that mental disorders refer to a constellation of syndromic symptoms that affect mood, thoughts, and / or behavior. Conclusion: there is a relationship between family support and medication adherence in people with mental disorders (ODGJ). Sugestion: Can provide information and nursing intervention independently of the importance of adherence to taking medication for patients with mental disorders.
