- Annisa Fauziah1, Arsulfa2, Sultina Sarita2 Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is acute infection disease that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract, it is from the nose to the pockets of the lung (alveoli) including the adneksa (sinus, middle ear cavity, and pleura). One of the risk factor causes acute respiratory infection is exclusive breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding that not reach national target is thought to increase the risk of acute respiratory infections by 15-23%. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding with acute respiratory tract infection on under five children in Lepo-Lepo Public Health Center Kendari 2018. Design of research is cross sectional study. The sample is 76 under five children. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Data were analyzed by Chi Square and Prevalence Ratio. The results showed that most of the under five children did not have a history of exclusive breastfeeding had acute respiratory infections. Based on the Chi Square test results obtained p-value=0,00<0,10. This shows there is a relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding with acute respiratory infections in under five children. Prevalence Ratio is 7,38
