- Tabat Barito or Ficus deltoidea (FD) is a medicinal plant has long been used by local people in Indonesian, especially on the Sumatra and Kalimantan islands, but has been not as popular as in Malaysia. The some obstacles in the development of plants as traditional medicine is limited information. The writing of this article is based on a study of the literature published online and online about the benefits and bioactivity of FD. The data obtained is synthesized so that information is obtained that is comprehensive. Ethnobotany FD is used to treat wounds, diarrhea, diabetes mellitus, postpartum tonics, stamina enhancers, and cancer drugs. Ficus deltoidea has bioactivity as anti-diabetes mellitus, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, aprosidiac, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-obesity. Ficus deltoidea activity is related to the content of secondary metabolites, especially ursolic acid, phenolics, flavonoids, isovitexin, moretenol, betulin, lupenone, and lupeol. Isovitexin has antiangiogenic and anti-cancer activity. Bioactivity FD as an anti-cancer and obesity needs to be continued so that it can be developed as an alternative medicine.
