- The basic assumption on the study is that there is an effect of photograph on the tenth Graders’ Recount Text Writing at SMA Angkasa 1. This study was based on that most students at Class X Senior High School ANGKASA 1, Jakarta had some problems in writing. So that, the researcher used photograph as a teaching media to test whether there is an effect of photograph as a teaching media in writing recount text on the tenth graders’ recount text at SMA Angkasa 1. The finding shows that post-test mean score (53.87) was higher than mean scores of pre-test (50.89). It was also indicated that Sig. 2-tailed 0,037 ≤ 0.05. It means that the hypothesis was accepted. Based on the analysis of the data, it is concluded that there was increase difference between pre-test scores and post-test scores. Statistically, it was showed that teaching writing by using photograph improved students’ writing skills at Class X-MIA 1 of Senior High Scholl 1, Jakarta.
