- The prevalence of chronic kidney disease ≥ 15 years of age by province in Indonesia is between 0.1% to 0.5%, including Jakarta. Indonesia will be an increase in people with kidney failure in 2025 of 41.4% and there would be 70,000 kidney failure patients, this figure will continue to increase by about 10% every year .. The purpose of this study to explain the effectiveness of audiovisual media as health education on knowledge family patient. This study used Quasi Experiment - Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Number of survey respondents as many as 46 people. .The results of the study univariate analysis were respondents aged ≤ 43 years (56.5%), low education level (63%) and experience have been exposed to information about Chronic Kidney Disease (65.2%). Paired bivariate analysis, no significant difference Test average of respondents' knowledge of pre and post in the control group (p = 0.001) and in the intervention group (p = 0.001). Independent Sample Test Results obtained knowledge of the difference between the control group and the intervention (p = 0.005). Multivariate analysis experience is the most influential variable for knowledge (p = 0.002). Based on these results that the audiovisual more effective than a non audiovisual media in providing health education on knowledge (p = 0.005). Therefore, it is expected that the hospital management to facilitate patients and families to obtain health education using audiovisual media.
