- Rainfall data is very important for engineering planning especially for water buildings such as irrigation, dams, urban drainage, ports, docks, and others. Because of that rainfall data in a region is continuously recorded to calculate the planning that will be carried out. The recording of rainfall data carried out on a watershed is carried out at several points of the rainfall recording station to find out how much rain falls on a watershed whether even or not. Palembang is one of the metropolitan cities in Indonesia and is geographically located between 2o 52 ′ to 3o 5 Selatan South Latitude and 104o 37 ′ to 104o 52 Timur East Longitude with an average height of 8 meters above sea level. The total area of Palembang City is 400.61 km2 which is administratively divided into 16 sub-districts and 107 sub-districts. The purpose of this study is that I want to know the average rainfall in Palembang city and the method with a difference in value close together. From the calculation of average rainfall with the method of algebraic average, Thiessen polygon method and Isohyet method the average rainfall in Palembang in 2017 is 49.92 mm, 48.49 mm and 47.90 mm and in 2018 it is 47.29 mm 45.84 mm and 45.91 mm. The calculation results have no significant difference with the average value of difference for 2017 at 0.02% mm and 2018 for 0.014% mm.
