- A train as mode of transportation has been used intensifely for people daily trips with in the are south of sumatera and peripheral areas. PT KA Devisi Regional III Palembang has provided some class to serve passengers, among other classes economic, business, and ecsecutive class. A purpose this research is find of characteristics of the train passengers station in corridor kertapati station – lubuk linggau station. Collecting data is done through interview with 300 respondens a questions included : social – economic, a purpose of travel, viche ownership, the reason for selecting the clasess of trains, the frequency of use, and a transition of moda transportation. The resulut show that the majority economic class passenger characteristic have monthly income of <Rp.150.000.00 is 47% the domination of respondent a productive age is 20 -29 years old 42%, a domination with recreation on trip is 46% and the domination respondents choose a train classes to the income 63%. The majority business class passenger characteristic have monthly income of <RP.150.000.00 is 40%,domination of respondents a productive age is 20 – 29 years old is 39%, and the domination with a schedule reason is 49%. The majority executive class passenger characteristic have monthly income of RP.300.000.00 – 499.000.00, is 49%, domination of respondent a productive age is 30 -39 years old is 49%, and purpose on trip recreation is 38%, and 95% passengers of executive choose executive class of train because a comfortable and safety place.
