- The purpose of this study was to find out how much value added and the advantages of processing cassava into cassava chips, to find out what are the business of processing cassava into cassava chips. The study was conducted ini suka maju Village, Sako Subdistrict, Palembang City, as one of the regions that has home industry processing cassava into cassava chips, the method used is the survey method. The method used in sampling is the census method. Data collection method used in this study are obsevation and interviews direcctly to respondents whit a tool that has been prepared in advance i the form of a list of questions. Data processing method used in this study are value added analysis. Results are know : (1) the average value added from processing cassava into cassava chips from suka maju Village, sako sub-district is Rp. 7.234/kg with a percentage of 40,19 % with production yield of 30 kg in one production process whit selling prices Rp. 30.000/kg. And the average profit obtained from processing cassava chips in Suka maju sub-district, Sako sub-district is equal to Rp. 4.034/kg. (2). The process of processing cassava chips there are several obstacles faced, namely from raw materials and marketing.
