- The dvelopment of information technology nowadays has increases the number of internet user in Indonesia. These affect the inception of various virtual communities in cyberspace, including many virtual communities of ethnic groups in Indoensia. One of the etnhic groups that have many virtual communities in cyberspace is MInangkabau. Minangkabau is adynamic ethnic people which reflected in dynamic and active virtual community. Virtual communities arise as pages in World Wide Web but also as groups in social networking sites as Facebook. Cimbua .net, Palanta Urang Awak Minangkabau, Gebu Minang, Forum Kotagadang, and many more, have gathered the public engagement of Minangkabau cultural identiry in cyberspace
