  • Mass media is a tool used to convey messages from sources to the audience (recipients) by using mechanical communication tools such as newspapers, films, radio, television. One of them is a film that is currently developing rapidly. In this study, we want to explain the code of public relations ethics that we can take in film. The public relations code of ethics is a rule that regulates practitioners to always maintain ethics when carrying out their work. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the film Thank You for Smoking has the meaning of the complexity of the work situation because the applicable code of ethics is not in accordance with field conditions. The code of ethics is also subjective because it is influenced by several factors such as the environment, culture, culture and patterns of interaction between individuals in each region to form an ethic that applies in the region.
