ANALISIS PENINGKATAN KUALITAS DESIGN MOLD DIE CASTING MELALUI PENERAPAN QUALITY CONTROL CIRCLE DI PT. XYZ

- ABSTRAK PT. XYZ merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufacturing mold Die Casting. Mold merupakan rongga tempat material leleh (baik plastik atau logam alumunium) yang dapat memperoleh bentuk yang diinginkan, salah satunya yaitu part kendaraan bermotor. Oleh sebab itu, kualitas sebuah mold akan sangat mempengaruhi kualitas part sepeda motor. Karena pentingnya kualitas sebuah mold tersebut, maka penulis mencari masalah utama yang sering terjadi pada proses produksi sebuah mold. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa masalah serta mengidentifikasi penyebab masalah yang muncul pada proses produksi mold, terutama pada proses design mold die casting. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk memberikan usulan perbaikan sehingga dapat mengurangi masalah yang terjadi. Pada penelitian ini, menggunakan metode QCC untuk melakukan perbaikan dan peningkatan kualitas mold. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui masalah utama pada proses produksi mold yaitu terjadi pada proses design dengan prosentase sebesar 55%. Pada proses design tersebut kemudian dianalisa kembali menggunakan analisa FMEA dan fishbone diagram, sehingga diketahui penyebab dominan dari proses design adalah proses 2D drawing. Dari hasil analisa tersebut, faktor metode menjadi penyebab paling dominan, yaitu operation standard untuk proses double check tidak ada, dengan nila RPN sebesar 648. Mold is a cavity for material melted (even plastic and alumunium alloy) used to form a vehicle part component. Therefore, the quality of a mold will greatly affect the quality of motorcycle parts. Because of the importance of the quality of a mold, the authors look for the main problems that often occur in the production process of a mold. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problem and identify the causes of problems that arise in mold manufacturing process, especially in the die casting mold design process. Furthermore, this study has an objective to provide proposed improvements to reduce the problems that occur. In this study is using the QCC method for the improvement and mold quality enhancement. Based on the study results, it is known that the main problem in the mold production process is occurs in the design process with a percentage of 55%. The design process, then analyzed again using FMEA analysis and fishbone diagrams, so as the main problem of the design process is 2D drawing. From the results of this analysis, the operation standard for double check process doesn’t exist is the most dominant cause, with RPN values of 648.
