Children. The subjects used were single parent mothers who have autism children, with
a total of three subjects. This type of research used in this research is qualitative
research with a phenomenological approach. Qualitative is a type of research whose
findings are not obtained through statistical procedures or other forms of calculation.
The method used in this research is non-participatory observation method and open
interview method with interview guidelines. The results of this study indicate that the
coping used by the subjects is problem focused coping with a form of planful problem
solving where the subject has plans for the lives of he and his children, and there are
also coping, emotional focused coping with positive appraisal forms by draw closer to
God and supported by accepting responsibility by accepting his autistic child to
convince himself that children are entrusted by God.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Coping Stress Pada Ibu Single Parent Yang
Memiliki Anak Autisme. Subjek yang digunakan adalah ibu single parent yang
memiliki anak autisme, dengan jumlah subjek tiga orang. Jenis penelitian yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan
fenomenologi. Kualitatif merupakan jenis penelitian yang temuannya tidak diperoleh
melalui prosedur statistik atau bentuk hitungan lainnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah metode observasi non partispatif dan metode wawancara terbuka
dengan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa coping yang di
gunakan oleh para subjek adalah problem focused coping dengan bentuk planful
problem solving yang dimana subjek mempunyai rencana-rencana untuk kehidupan ia
dan anak-anaknya, serta terdapat juga coping, emotional focused coping dengan bentuk
positive appraisal dengan cara mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan serta di dukung oleh
accepting responsibility dengan menerima anaknya yang autisme meyakinkan diri
bahwa anak adalah titipan dari Tuhan.
