Libraries can also be interpreted as a collection of information that is the nature of science, entertainment, recreation, and worship that is the essential human need. As the growth of library technology has to adapt the existing growth not to be forgotten, therefore the library in the modern era is redefined as a place to access information in any format, in modern libraries of printed collections and some collections are in digital libraries where form of data that can be accessed through computer network. The development of this technology that makes this research aims to build android application digilib.mercubuana.ac.id at the Library of the University of Mercu Buana Library that facilitate the University of Mercu Buana community in searching book refrensi or book information. This application system is built using the Algorithm Binary Search Tree where the use of the algorithm facilitate the search of the book to search, JAVA, JSON and Firebase database. With this android application, it allows the civitas to get the book information anywhere and whenever he wants.

Perpustakaan merupakan sebuah tempat yang memiliki banyak koleksi buku dan majalah. Perpustakaan juga bisa diartikan sebagai kumpulan informasi yang bersifat ilmu pengetahuan, hiburan, rekreasi, dan ibadah yang merupakan kebutuhan hakiki manusia. Seiring pertumbuhan teknologi perpustakaan harus menyesuaikan pertumbuhan yang ada agar tidak dilupakan, oleh karena itu perpustakaan di era modern didefinisikan kembali sebagai tempat untuk mengakses informasi dalam format apapun, di dalam perpustakaan modern kumpulan-kumpulan buku yang tercetak dan sebagian koleksi ada di dalam perpustakaan digital dimana berupa bentuk data yang bisa diakses lewat jaringan komputer. Perkembangan teknologi ini yang membuat penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun aplikasi android digilib.mercubuana.ac.id pada UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Mercu Buana yang memudahkan civitas Universitas Mercu Buana dalam mencari refrensi buku atau informasi buku. Sistem aplikasi ini dibangun dengan menggunakan Algoritma Binary Search Tree dimana penggunaan algoritma tersebut memudahkan pencarian terhadap buku yang ingin dicari, JAVA, JSON dan database Firebase. Dengan adanya aplikasi android ini, maka memudahkan civitas untuk mendapatkan informasi buku dimana saja dan kapanpun yang ia mau.
