- In the current era of globalization, information technology is advancing rapidly and is very influential on various aspects of life. In addition, technology that continues to evolve over time is also able to support every activity to be more effective and efficient, especially information technology. One of them is the emergence of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system designed to work with data that is spatially reference or geographic coordinates. WebGIS is a Geographic Information System (GIS) application that can be accessed online through the internet / web. In the WebGIS configuration there is a server that functions as a MapServer in charge of processing map requests from the client and then sending it back to the client. In this case the user / client does not need to have GIS software, only using internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Fire Fox, or Google Chrome to access GIS information on the server. How to design a web-based Geographic Information System (WebGIS) application to support the mapping survey service process at PT. XYZ, so that this system can help users and administrators in conducting an inventory and audit of mapping survey work. We analyze the system that runs on PT. XYZ to be able to apply it to the website-based application that we will build. Then we make a design for the application that the process has been integrated with webservice and database so that the information provided can be received correctly by the administrator and related workers. After the webGIS application is built then the functions are tested such as data processing and performing certain operations by displaying and analyzing spatial data whether it can run properly.
