  • Various processes that formed the soil can be a source of information in land management. The appearance macromorphology in addition with micromorphology and mineralogical data of soil can be an important reference in land management. Therefore, this study aims to study the micromorphology characteristics and soil mineralogy of Entisol which located in Pangkep regency of South Sulawesi Province. Research methods include; manufacture thin section, identification soil minerals with microscope polarization and micromorphology characteristics with Brewer methods. The results showed that the soil particles fabric were very angular-angular, degree of minerals weathering relatively moderate-low levels, void types are vugh, planes and packing, distribution patterns of particles are porphyry with types; pedofeature, depletion and amorphous. The process of soil pedogenesis was in slow-medium degree. It is characterized by the development of a growing void in the C horizon more active than the A horizon, the distribution of coarse particles on the horizon C more than the A horizon and the formation of oxides konkresi were not perfect on either horizon
