  • DAS Jeneberang that is situated in the western part of the Bawakaraeng mountain in Kabupaten Gowa South Sulawesi has a high landslide potensial and it causes sedimentation and silting up to the Bilibili dam.The physical properties of the soil have been investigated and cover the water content, soil resistivity, colour, grainsize, type of soil and stability factor the result shows that the water content of the soils have a values smaller than 50% namely 27,23%, 15,99%; and 25,67% for level I, II and III respectively. The soil densities are different also for each level. The soil colours obtained from direct investigation in the field are dark brown, magenta and black. Angle of the hillslope are 260, 650 and 480, and these slopes have factor of safety 1,065; 0,23; and 0,45 for level I, II, III respectively. Considering to the resistivity and value of the safety factor can be predicted that the study area has a high potential to landslide.
