  • The success of Indonesia's development is largely determined by the availability of qualified human resources, which the health sector development is one key element. This researchaims to determine differences in malaria in the lowlands with highlands in southeast Maluku the district west in 2013.Study was implementedin the hamlet of South Tanimbarese Wesawak District (representing theupland areas) withthe Village District Manglusi Nirunmas(representing the Lowlands) The study was observational with cross sectional study. Sample of 252 people, divided into 214 positive malaria in the village Manglusi with 38 positive malaria in the hamlet Wesawak. Data analysis used chi square and regression logistic. The results showed that there are differences inhabits of the people come out at night(p=0.029), mosquito breeding(p=0.027) andmobility of population(p=0.009), access health care(p=0.000) in the lowlands with highlands. While theexistence of cattle sheds(p=0.054) did not differ in with lowland plateau. The most dominant variable difference to suffer from malaria in low with the highlands is access health care(Wald =24.92, p=0.000).
