- This research was conducted to know the ratio between investment and business scale in an effort to determine whether large-scale farms or small-scale farms invest more in biosecurity. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the average cost of biosecurity for large and small scale broiler farm was IDR 310.7/bird and IDR 1,340/bird respectively. The higher the number of birds, the lower the cost per bird. Future work will include more variables in the economic analysis to provide a more accurate estimation of farm investment in biosecurity. This variables will need to account for all control measures implemented to minimize farm biosecurity risk.
